The Good Fight: Julianna Margulies Not Expected to Appear in Final Season

As Julianna Margulies won’t be appearing in The Good Fight’s final season, Alicia Florrick, Diane Lockhart’s former coworker, is unlikely to appear on the show. As audiences remember, CBS’s The Good Wife, in which Margulies starred for seven seasons from 2009 to 2016, inspired The Good Fight.

Since then, Diane from Baranksi has assumed the role of the flagship’s leading woman on the streaming spin-off, which debuted a year later in 2017. According to program co-creator and executive producer Michelle King, “It’s not our expectation that she is going to come back.” The Good Fight prepares for its last season at Paramount+, and Margulies won’t get a red carpet welcome.

The network previously announced the Good Fight’s sixth season, but the final few episodes of the current season wouldn’t air until May 27, 2022. They asked Margulies to participate in a brief storyline for The Good Fight’s third season but canceled the appearance due to financial issues.

The sixth and last season of The Good Fight, announced at the end of May, will most likely not include Julianna Margulies. The leading actress Christine Baranski will bid goodbye to her role as Diane Lockhart after 13 years.
