Lisa James, Larissa Garcia, Erica Dexter, and Casey Parsons, all of whom are pursuing occupational therapy at the institution, successfully developed the HugAgain gadget. Emily Sisco believed her pupils would take up the challenge when she asked them to design a piece of adaptable gear for her father. She didn’t realize how a video of her father using the gear would attract many people worldwide.
Emily asked her father what he had missed most since his stroke in the video. He initially stated that he enjoyed fishing, then added that he wished he could hug his family members once more. She also told him that his dream would be fulfilled as she wrapped around the band on his arm.
