The 1974 Black Christmas’s equally terrifying and darkly comedic parts make it great. The killer, who remains invisible and unidentified, is genuinely menacing, and the suspenseful atmosphere is superb. But the film doesn’t take itself too seriously – there are plenty of laughs, especially from Margot Kidder’s character, Barb.
When it comes to horror films guaranteed to get you in the Christmas spirit, look no further than Black Christmas. It’s the perfect blend of scares and laughs, and it’s sure to become a holiday tradition in your household.
