PETS
We forget that dogs have a shorter lifespan; we love them endlessly and think we have forever with them. But once they are gone, your whole world crashes.
The sadness is overwhelming, and the pain too much to bear. The toys are left as is, the empty bed and bowls always in the same place long after they are gone.
The low days get harder to deal with as there are no more warm hugs to feel better. Only then do we realize how much we depend on dogs for our happiness. How much of our heaviness was taken away when we hugged them and played with them. They are the unpaid therapists who don’t even speak.
