The late actress and comedian Betty Marion White (January 17, 1922 – December 31, 2021) was a pioneer of early television, with a television career spanning more than seven decades.
White had worked both in front and behind the camera, a true pioneer. In 1955, she was named honorary Mayor of Hollywood because she produced the first sitcom in the United States (Life with Elizabeth).
White has had an impressive career spanning eighty years since landing her first role in the 1939 TV operetta called The Merry Widow. People all over the country recognize her charm, talent, and humor.
